Is all this complexity around asset performance management bullshit?
Just like you wouldn’t schedule a knee replacement at the average age (65), why are we still doing this for equipment maintenance?
What we believe:
There’s a machine and a process. They are and will forever be linked. The most perfect physical model always needs to be calibrated when it’s punched in the face by reality.
You have a maintenance strategy whether you say it or not. If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.
Much like a doctor, you shouldn’t add another measurement unless you can explain how it’s going to change your asset strategy.
Is it complicated, sure. Complex? No.
